to participate in our Q-Males DNA Project and to document our large and ever growing family tree.\u00a0 A few examples of how you can be involved are listed below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>First, are you a member? <\/strong>&#8211; It&#8217;s free and easy to join.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/morrison-q.com\/wp\/?page_id=1657\">How to join<\/a>.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Morrison-Q Business Cards<\/strong> &#8211; Print and keep a supply Morrison-Q business cards with you.\u00a0 Anytime you meet a Morrison who is a part, or thinks they are a part of our family &#8211; give them a card, encouraging them to visit and join our WEB Site and Discussion Group.\u00a0 A downloadable file of the business cards can be found on our <a href=\"https:\/\/morrison-q.com\/wp\/?page_id=951\">promotional page<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Morrison-Q Tri-Fold Brochure<\/strong> &#8211; Print a supply of our Morrison-Q tri-fold brochures.\u00a0 Think of locations where it would be beneficial to leave some brochures.\u00a0 A downloadable file of the tri-fold can be found on our <a href=\"https:\/\/morrison-q.com\/wp\/?page_id=951\">promotional page<\/a>.\u00a0 Any of the following venues would be a great place to leave some, making it possible for searching family members to find us.\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Your local county library.\u00a0 Ask if they have a place where you could leave some of the brochures \u2013 they may have a Morrison file in their genealogical reference section.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Your local historical society.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Your local genealogical society.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #666699;\">The Clan Morrison Tent at your local Highland Games.\u00a0 You could keep the tent convener stocked with a supply.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Think of some other creative places\u2026<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Newspaper Ad<\/strong> \u2013 If there is a concentration of Morrison families in your area, you might consider placing a small ad in your local newspaper.\u00a0 It could say something like &#8211; \u201cAre you part of our Morrison family?\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0 Visit Morrion-Q.com\u201d.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Scottish Highland Games<\/strong> &#8211; Do any annual Scottish Games or Festivals convene in your area?\u00a0 Is Clan Morrison represented?\u00a0 If so, ensure the convener is aware of our tri-fold brochure, and has a sufficient supply.\u00a0 If not, consider hosting a Clan Morrison tent.\u00a0 This is a great way to find Morrisons who connect to our family.\u00a0 Let us know if you are interested and we will inform you how to become a clan convener as well as help you to get started.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Family Tree<\/strong> &#8211; Compile and submit a tree of your branch of the family.\u00a0 This should be firsthand information and not obtained from the internet &#8211; such as Grandfather and all his descendants and spouses of descendants.\u00a0 This information would be used to confirm or expand areas of our Morrison-Q database.\u00a0 We have plans of eventually publishing a Morrison-Q Book.\u00a0 It would be helpful if the information was in a GEDCOM or Family Tree Maker file format.\u00a0 Basic information should include the following:\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Name<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Birth &#8211; Date and place<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Death &#8211; Date, place, and burial<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Spouse<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Marriage &#8211; Date and place<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Children<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Y-DNA Testing<\/strong> &#8211; We are always seeking to find and recruit people to test for our Y-DNA Project.\u00a0 The goal of our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/morrison-q.com\/wp\/?page_id=1324 \">Q-Males Project<\/a> is to identify and locate at least one male Morrison descendant for each of the 107 forth\u00a0generation male lines.\u00a0 It is our hope, as we get nearer to completing this goal, we will have a clearer picture of our genetic tree, thus helping future Morrisons to find where they fit into our family.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Donations<\/strong> &#8211; Funds to support our WEB site and projects come through the generous contribution of members &#8211; Donations may be made at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/give.Morrison-Q.com\">http:\/\/give.Morrison-Q.com<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>WEB Site Gallery Items<\/strong> &#8211; Submit items to our WEB Site Gallery (wills, death certificates, deeds, war records, photos, etc.).\u00a0 The items should be in either JPG or PDF file format.\u00a0 Each file should be named by the subject&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/morrison-q.com\/wp\/?page_id=1324\">Q-Males Project<\/a> designation, followed by a space, then a hyphen, then another space, ending with the subject&#8217;s name.\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Example:\u00a0\u00a0 J2bb &#8211; John Amos Morrison.jpg<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>WEB Site Articles<\/strong> &#8211; Submit an article about someone or something relating to your branch of the family.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Facebook<\/strong> \u2013 Like our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Morrison-Q\/186538851368005\">Morrison-Q Facebook page<\/a> and periodically write something on you timeline having to do with Morrison-Q &#8211; don\u2019t forget to include our WEB site address.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Genealogy Forums<\/strong> &#8211; Do you spend time on genealogy forums and discussion boards?\u00a0 When you come across a person who is apparently part of our family &#8211; please let them know about Morrison-Q and our WEB site address.<\/li>\n<li><strong>T-Shirt or Pin<\/strong> &#8211; When you attend an event &#8211; consider wearing a Morrison-Q T-Shirt or Pin.\u00a0 Perhaps you will connect with a family member who asks about Morrison-Q, and respond by giving them a Morrison-Q business card.\u00a0 Items can be found on our <a href=\"https:\/\/morrison-q.com\/wp\/?page_id=951\">promotional page<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Roles in Morrison-Q<\/strong> &#8211; For members who desire and are willing to take on some responsibility within the group &#8211; we can work on a role in Morrison-Q that fits your time commitment and talents.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Genealogical Research<\/strong> &#8211; Learn how to do careful research to work on yet to be completed areas of our family tree.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Recruit Younger Generation<\/strong> &#8211; Encourage younger members of our family to join Morrison-Q &#8211; to learn about our heritage &#8211; to help them carry on the legacy.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Amazon.com Widget<\/strong> &#8211; There is an Amazon widget on the bottom of the right side column\u00a0of our WEB page. If you do your Amazon purchasing through the widget &#8211; our site will receive a small commission with every purchase made. The transaction takes place on Amazon, and the cost of the item will be the same. Our account will show only the commission &#8211; not who did the purchasing.
