NOTES FROM REVOLUTIONARY WAR PENSION STATEMENT Of JOHN MORRISON<\/span><\/p>\n

These brief notes were taken from the Revolutionary War Pension Statement of John Morrison of <\/span>Iredell County<\/span>, <\/span>North Carolina<\/span>, #W17171.\u00a0 John is a man referred to as \u201cRevolutionary John\u201d among <\/span>Iredell<\/span> County<\/span> genealogists today.<\/span><\/p>\n

Toward the end of his statement, John said, \u201cI moved an orphan boy into N Carolina Rowan County (now <\/span>Iredell<\/span> County<\/span>)\u2026\u201d\u00a0 Further, he said he was born \u201cCounty of <\/span>Lancaster<\/span> State <\/span>Pennsylvania<\/span> on <\/span>Nov. 11, 1743<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

In an addendum of 1843, in which John\u2019s widow Sarah Morrison made application for receipt of John\u2019s pension, Sarah stated she was then 88 years of age and had married the last part of December 1771.\u00a0 Thus she was born about 1755, and was married at about 16 years of age.\u00a0 Then there is a copy from the family Bible of the family statistics, which include John\u2019s date of death, <\/span>July 9, 1835<\/span>.\u00a0 His children are listed as:<\/span><\/p>\n

These first must have been Thomas and Henry, as listed in some online family trees.\u00a0 I saw nothing of three later children, Andrew, Robert, and Elizabeth.<\/span><\/p>\n

There was no mention of the Potts family nor was Sarah\u2019s maiden name entered in the document.<\/span><\/p>\n
